You will need (makes 8 servings)
3 cups oats (not quick-cooking)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup raisins, dried cranberries, dried cherries, or other dried fruit
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
-Preheat oven to 350
-In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients -Combine wet and dry ingredients, mix well
-Pour mixture into a greased casserole, deep pie plate, or an 8x8 dish
-Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown
-Serve immediately with a splash warm milk (if milk is cold it will cool down everything too much)
This smells so amazing coming out of the oven. I had a hard time snapping shots due to my toddler pulling on my shirt while using some choice toddler words towards me. I then promptly scooped out some oatmeal, scooped up the toddler and we snuggled on the couch with a bowlful of this belly filling stuff.
